TECO High Efficiency Motor
TECO / Tung Yuan Electric, originating from Taiwan. One of the world's leading motor manufacturers.
High-efficiency motors are expected to provide energy-saving effects due to their higher efficiency compared to standard motors. In Japan, since 2009, air conditioning equipment equipped with "high-efficiency motors (JIS C4212)" has been designated under the Green Law for procurement in public works. However, in countries like Europe and the United States, mandatory regulations regarding efficiency standards have been established early on, and Japan is considered to be lagging in the global movement towards the adoption of high-efficiency motors. In the United States, the Energy Policy Act (EPAct) mandated regulations regarding efficiency in 1992, and TECO, having entered the U.S. market as TECO-Westinghouse, has been involved in high-efficiency motors from an early stage. They offer models compliant with IE1 to IE3. TECO is one of the world's leading motor manufacturers originating from Taiwan. After acquiring Westinghouse's motor division in 1995, it has rapidly increased its sales in recent years, currently ranking third in the world in sales (as of 2017). The company has more than ten manufacturing bases primarily in Southeast Asia. Their product lineup includes three-phase induction motors, high-efficiency motors, high-voltage three-phase motors, and wound rotor motors.
